LG teases a rollable display phone at CES 2021

Image
It's well-known that LG has been working on a rollable smartphone for some time now so we are excited to see the company teasing its future product during this year's CES 2021. Unfortunately, though, we didn't get lot of details. In fact, there's hardly any info, but it's probably safe to assume that it will be revealed later this year. We can look back  at previous   leaks  to get an idea of how the LG Rollable will work. Oh, and that  last rumor  seems to be busted given that LG kind of confirmed the name "Rollable". We also expect TCL to come out with a finished product with rollable screen later this year.

The Fossil Group and its subsidiary brands brought out their next generation smartwatches to show off at CES 2021. This means the watches share some hardware (but have unique designs). Note that they are split into two groups – the more capable Google Wear OS watches and the hybrid designs with longer battery life. The former include some LTE-connected models. The Fossil Gen 5 LTE Touchscreen Smartwatch joins the  current Gen 5 series . It’s powered by a Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and has an eSIM, which enables it to make and receive calls and texts. LG unveils webOS 6.0 with Alexa and Google Assistant support, upgraded Magic Remote

Image
LG   unveiled new QNED Mini LED TVs   at CES 2021. They will be the first to run the latest webOS 6.0, “the most significant update” to the operating system since it was introduced back in 2014. It comes with a new Magic Remote to boot. The first thing you’ll notice is that there are now more dedicated buttons for services. Let’s start from the bottom – the new OS has native support for the Google Assistant and Alexa, which can be invoked with their own buttons. Above that are buttons for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and LG Channels. The Next Picks feature learns your tastes in TV viewing and will recommend two live programs (from broadcast or set-top offerings) and one title from streaming services. Alternatively, you can use Magic Tap – you can tap your phone to the remote (which now features NFC) to easily send photos and videos from your phone to the TV. Magic Explorer (an evolution of Magic Link) offers additional information about what’s on screen – about the actors, sh

LG announces details of its 2021 OLED TV lineup

Image
LG has released a handful of details about its upcoming 2021 series of OLED televisions at CES 2021. Going through the somewhat vague press release, it seems there would be at least five models of OLED TVs available in 2021, including the Z1, G1, C1, B1, and A1. Among these, the G1 will feature LG's next generation OLED panel called OLED evo. LG claims this new panel is capable of higher brightness levels, something OLED has always struggled with. The G1 will be available in 55, 65, and 77-inch sizes. The C1 will likely be the next popular model in LG's lineup after the success of 2020's CX. Like the CX, the C1 starts at 48-inches but goes all the way up to 83-inches for the first time. This won't feature the OLED evo panel, as that seems to be exclusive to the G1 model. The Z1 seems to be the 8K model and will be available in 77 and 88-inch sizes. Not much is known about the A1 and B1 models, other than they will be available in at least 55 and 65-inch sizes. The Z1,
